The
goal of the Leon County EMS Child Passenger Safety Seat Program is to make
people aware of the importance of properly securing all children in child safety
seats, boosters or seat belts - every trip, every time. According to the
U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA), child safety seats and boosters offer the best
protection for children during a crash. In the past 30 years, almost 9,000
lives have been saved by the use of child restraints. Leon County EMS has
14 certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians on staff to assist the public
with this. We host several check point events around the county each year
where we offer training and advice to parents. Technicians are available by appointment at
EMS Headquarters, located at 1800-2 N Blair Stone Rd, Tallahassee, 32308.
